Spoilers Ahead! Journey to the Center of the Earth

To investigate the disappearance of his brother, professor Trevor Anderson travels to Iceland with his nephew Sean. The reason they go to Iceland is because the dormant volcano that Trevors brother and Sean’s father was investigating 10 years earlier is showing activity again. Once there, they hire a guide named Hannah Ásgeirsson. Hannah offers to help them climb the volcano. While the group is hiking up the volcano, a lightning storm forces them to take shelter in a cave. The cave entrance collapses, leaving them trapped in what appears to be an abandoned mine. The trio then rides on a roller coaster-esk railway until they end up at the top of a volcanic vent. The stone crumples below their feet and sends them plummeting down into the abyss.

They eventually land (Somehow unharmed) in a pool in a cave. It turns out that there is a semi prehistoric world living in a air pocket at the center of the earth.  The group explores the new world where they find the remains of the brother. The group learns that the temperature in this air pocket rises ever decade or so to the point that would kill any humans down there.

The group then attempts to make an escape across a small ocean, after which they are chased by a Trex into a volcano. Once in the volcano they make a bullshit escape.
I can’t recommend this movie as like a date movie, or a movie that you should see if you take movie seriously. Maybe as a rental on a slow Saturday if you wanna watch a dumb but entertaining movie.
